THE BRAIN TUMOUR RESEARCH FUND

Please watch this video - our family know how these people feel and that is

why we are trying our best to spread the word so that everyone knows that money is needed for research as -

Brain Tumour’s are the biggest killers of UK children and Adults

under the age of 40- more than any other type of cancer!!

Sheila Hancock CBE and Bill Tarmey appeal for help to fund the fight in this heartfelt video. We share personal stories behind the devastating statistics.

In 2010 my daughter Elaine was diagnosed with

a Brain Tumour. Until then we had never realised how

common this disease is amongst  children and young adults.

Most doctors do not know what symptoms to look for and some young adults are being treated for

depression as some symptoms can be similar.

Unfortunately due to these circumstances people are

sometimes diagnosed to late.

The Brain Tumour Research provides funding to develop and support a programme of research into the causes of brain cancer and to improve the diagnosis and treatment of this distressing condition.

We are trying to raise  money for this needy cause

as it has the lowest funding. It only receives 1% of it's funding from Cancer Research.

Brain tumours account for 40% of cancer deaths in children now surpassing lymphoblastic leukaemia

Brain tumours are also the leading cause of death in young males.

Did you know that it is the leading cause

of cancer deaths in young children in the UK?

Despite these shocking facts funding for research into brain tumours is negligible. There's a great need for better understanding of what causes them, how the brain reacts to them and how they behave and most importantly a need for better and more effective treatments.

A few years ago prostate and testicular cancer suffered from the same lack of awareness and funding. With increased resources, support and awareness, treatment success rates are constantly improving. It is now vital that the same pioneering and class leading work is committed to stamping out brain tumours.

We  had a Quiz night and Entertainment at Denton Cricket Club on 6 May 2011 which raised  £1020. With raffles and donations which we had received we sent Brain Tumour Reseach £1800.

A friend Jamie Whittaker climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Elaine's name on behalf of Brain Tumour Research and raised £1257.

We also had a Table Top Sale on 17 July 2011 and thanks to everyone who helped and contributed by making this a great day we raised £1170.

At our Dinner Dance at the Cresta Court hotel in Altrincham on 31 March 2012 we made a grand total

of £1620. Thank you to everyone for their support
